Grant Wood was a professor-in-residence at University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA; Madeline D Horn was the wife of another professor-in-residence at U. Of I. and was completing her childhood book "Farm On The Hill" and asked Grant Wood for various illustrations for each of her books chapters that was published in 1936. This lithographic print was printed by Charles Scribner's Sons of N.Y. and dates from the original print-art that was the property of the artist and came from a collection of memorabilia belonging to Nan Wood Graham, the artists sister.
