CALIF. -WELL LISTED " On The Range " ( Ranch House in The Siskiyou Mountains - Near Yreka, California ) A beautifully rendered mountain panorama reminiscent of the graphic mountain renderings of Maynard Dixon, " On The Range " is one of Partridges' largest know etchings. Original etching printed in black ink on fine laid cream rag paper: signed in pencil below image, center: also signed and dated 1932 - 1933 in the plate: from the edition of 63 of which 6 impressions were destroyed: image/plate size: approx. 10 x 14 inches ( 254 x 355mm ): sheet size including margins: 11 1/2 x 17 3/4 inches: ( framed: frame size: 16 x 22 1/2 inches ): sheet hinged at top/not laid down/no foxing/faint mat toning line on the outer margins, not effecting the image and covered by the new mat. This work was illustrated in " Fine Prints of The Year " plate 87, pub. 1934, Halton & Co, London and also illustrated in the Christian Science Monitor, 1934, and in " West Coast Portrait " by Joyce Meunch, pg. 119, 1946.
