Don't miss this chance! 54"w x 26"d x 26"t Purchased in the early 1980's from Seward Johnson. Only one owner! J. Seward Johnson, Jr. After a lifetime as a painter, in 1968, J. Seward Johnson, JR., turned his talents to the medium of sculpture. Since then, more than 200 of John's life size cast bronze figures have been featured in private collections in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia, as well as prominent places in the public realm such as Rockefeller Center and the World Trade Center in New York City and Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver, Canada. Johnson's most dramatic work – and also was selected for the International Sculpture Conference Exhibition and is permanently sites in Washington, D.C. Subsequent exhibitions include the Morris ville Art Museum, Knoxville Museum of Art, Wave Hill Sculpture Park, Jacksonville Art Museum, Yale University, and solo exhibitions in Connecticut, New Jersey, Texas, California, New York, Washing, D.C., and throughout Canada. Corporate collectors include the Nike Corporation, Arthur Andersen, and The Trammell Crow Company. An exhibition of Johnson's realistic sculptures is now touring in major European cities and will continue throughout the next year. Photographs and articles about Johnson's realistic works have appeared in Time Art News, Art in America, U.S. News and World Report, Travel and Leisure, Smithsonian, and Life magazines, in addition to The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, and The New York Times. A comprehensive book on the artist, “Celebrating the Familiar,” has been published and is available at bookstores and through the artist's curator. This bronze figure is in good condition.
